Amit Awasthi, PhD

Amit Awasthi did his M.Sc in Biotechnology from Jiwaji University Gwaliar, India and PhD from National Center for Cell Sciences, Pune. He had his post-doctoral training at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA and worked as Instructor (Junior Faculty) at Harvard Medical School, MA, USA before joining THSTI, Faridabad as faculty. His present research interest lies in the area of understanding the interplay between effector and regulatory T cells in IBD and gut infection.Understanding T cell differentiation pathways in immunity, autoimmunity and cancer immunity, Understanding the metabolic regulation of T cells during their differentiaon. Besides the lab is trying to identify and understand the role of check point inhibitors in cancer immunity and understanding transcriptional regualtions of Th9 and Th17 cells.
